Extraordinarily nice staff - we felt welcome from the moment we arrived. From nice conversations and little things to add to our stay, they really went above and beyond. The location is also perfect - close to all the sites but not right on top of them. I would recommend Lazareto to anyone visiting Monemvasia.

A part from the beauty and charm of the city of Monenvassia itself, the hotel is in a perfect location at the entrance of the island, The old buildings, which where the old "Lazzareto enclave", have been wonderfully restaured, are all in stone, and the confort of the rooms is indeed very good. The fact that these rooms (we were in the old mill, which is a round tower) are only 10 meters away from the seashore is of course very important for the guests. The hotel people where friendly and helpful. 10/10 points for the breakfast, that can be consumed on a terrace overlooking the sea. The hotel is to be highly recommended and worth a "bis"

Sehr schönes Hotel auf der Halbinsel Monemvasia. Grosszügige gutgepflegte Anlage. Das Hotel liegt zwischen dem neueren Dorfteil auf dem Festland und dem von Festungsmauern umgebenen mittelalterlichen Dorf auf der Halbinsel. Erholsame Lage mit Mehrsicht, ausser dem Meeresrauschen absolute Ruhe. Sehr freundliches, hilfsbereites und aufmerksames Personal. Das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr üppig, Verschiedene Brötchen, Auswahl von 4 verschiedenen warmen Speisen, frisch gepresster Fruchtsaft, Kaffee, Tee, Fruchtsalat, Yoghourt,usw.,... Alles was das Herz begehrt! Idealer Ausgangspunkt um die malerische Altstadt zu besuchen wie auch um die mittelalterlichen Ruinen des Dorfteils auf der Bergkuppe zu erkunden. Die Zimmer sind geschmackvoll und gemütlich eingerichtet.

The staff was very helpful and relaxed with the late check out that we needed to make it a worthwhile weekend. Breakfast was very tasty and fresh quality. The hotel is well isolated against sounds. The fridge is filled with all the possible kinds of drinks you can imagine against a cheap price.

The location of this hotel is really unique, at the bottleneck of Monemvasia rock and an easy walking distance to both the medieval castle and the modern town. Moreover, the hotel has plenty of parking spaces, a really valuable resource for those who know Monemvasia. While checking-in, we were upgraded to a special room very close to the seashore and we had a private balcony with an amazing sea view. The staff was very polite and helpful and we had the chance to really relax and enjoy Monemvasia. The buffet breakfast was rich, tasteful and varied using quality local products. It was a real pleasure enjoying morning in the large terrace of the hotel, under the shadow of the trees, while listening to inspiring soft music and admiring the superb sea views. Actually, sometimes it seemed as the time had stopped at this place. I highly recommend this magical hotel.

The hotel was very friendly, with attentive staff and a pleasant, friendly atmosphere from the moment we arrived. The room was spacious and fitted with interesting period furniture, which created a wonderful eclectic look. The bed was very comfortable, and the breakfast buffet diverse and tasty. The location was fantastic within easy walking distance of both the old town and the port. I would gladly recommend it to others.

The smell of nature and the ocean was breathtaking. There is no greater experience then being in a place that hasn't been tainted by modern day architecture and cliche fashion, We ate breakfast overlooking the water and was pleased with the service that was provided to us.The room was extremely clean, fresh and breezy. The sound of crickets late at night and the water crashing against the rocks was exceptionally peaceful. I will definitely visit this hotel next year with the family. My experience was great and as a lover of history, was very pleased to find a hotel that gave us a story to tell. If you want a piece of history and to feel like a king Lazareto is the place to go. Reasonable price, clean room, great food, rich history, and inviting people.
