The Kastania Cave is one of the most remarkable stalactite caves in Greece — a subterranean world of extraordinary formations sculpted by water and time over millions of years.
Stalactites, stalagmites, flowstones and crystalline columns fill the chambers in shapes that shift with the torchlight. The cave maintains a constant temperature of 18°C year-round, a welcome coolness in summer.
Discovered relatively recently, the cave has been carefully developed for visitors while preserving its natural character. Guided tours lead through a series of chambers, each with its own formations and atmosphere.
Local tip
Bring a light jacket — 18°C feels cold after a summer day outside.
